Spring Forward

So tonight’s the night we lose a precious hour. I think my body knows it’s coming because yesterday I woke up at 6 when I had my alarm set for 10 and this morning I woke up at 7 when I had my alarm set for 8. There’s one thing I’ve noticed about this day and Fall Back day in the past few years.

As technology advances, more and more electronics are able to reset themselves. My old cell phone did it, my computer does it. Ironically enough, my digital clock never did it :p So I’d wake up the day after and I’d have no clue what time it was because I’d have two different times going. Once I realized that these electronics were smart, life got easier. But then I realized something else. The last cell phone I had always reset itself, but I was always up to watch it do so. Until last year that is. I found out last year, that when the time resets itself, so does the alarm. This year however, I need to be up at 8 so waiting until 2 and then jumping straight to 3, is not my idea of fun.

So I’ll basically be relying on my body to be my alarm clock tomorrow. But hey, I woke up at 6 yesterday & 7 today, so it’s only fitting that my body wake itself up at 8 tomorrow. Right? This could get interesting. Or perhaps they’ve found a way to make a phone alarm not reset itself when the time changes.

Guess we’ll see.
